Riley’s has received one of two new releases from New Glarus. The Thumbprint series IIPA is the first new beer from New Glarus to hit the shelves in under the span of one week. Essentially a repackaging of their popular Unplugged Series beers, the IIPA is the first beer released in the Thumbprint series.
The Thumbprint IIPA is a tasty brew, definitely crafted with the hophead in mind. Not the hoppiest beer on shelf, but it certainly delivers. This beer is well-balanced, providing a solid base of biscuit malt flavors and a touch of sweetness to balance the hoppy bitterness. The bottle makes further claims to this beer’s superiority:
“Always handcrafted, the bottle you hold is brewed for the adventurous soul. This is a very limited edition and we make no promises to ever brew this style again. A provocative 85 IBUs reverberates cleanly though this Double IPA. True hop saturation from kettle boil to dry hop cellaring dominates this elegant and lustful sensory enchantment. You hold a deceptively seductive Original Gravity of 19.2° Plato, now 9%A ABV following the always 100% natural bottle fermentation. Luscious English Maris Otter malt is the essential heart fo this voluptuous double IPA. Surrender is inevitable so enjoy now.”
We’re also excited to announce the soon-to-be released Two Women lager, which had previously only been available for purchase at the brewery in limited 500ml bottles. Two Women will be in 6-pack form, and at the regular price of $7.99 at Riley’s. We expect this beer to be on our shelves by Tuesday, March 29th. It’s a very sessionable beer, with an appealing deep-copper brown color and silky smooth malt profile.
“Four thousand years before Christ, Sumerian women created the divine drink of beer. Viking women brewed in Norse society. European Ale Wives were so successful as cottage brewers they were taxed. Artisanal women lost their domination of the daily ritual of brewing during the INdustrial REvolution. Today’s brewing trade is controlled by men. The collaboration of two women, New Glarus Brewing and Weyermann Malting, is unique. You hold the result “Two Women” a Classic Country Lager brewed with Weyermann’s floor malted Bohemian malt and Hallertau Mittelfrueh hops. A tempting and graceful classic lager found… Only in Wisconsin!”
A true feminist beer, and we’re looking forward to having it on our shelves!
